Glamour

I have never felt so glamourous as when I used to play dress-up with my mother's clothes. There's something wonderful about being a little kid who believes that being elegant and beautiful and mysterious is absolutely accessible to anyone who wears the hat. For some reason, a lot of us forget this when we grow up. Simply and without question, being glamourous is all in your attitude. This is why, I believe, Katherine Hepburn could look so great in rolled-up jeans and a white man's shirt. (Now if I could only remember this, myself, next time I'm feeling too fat or too ordinary or too something...)

Cats

The cats I see are usually sleeping. What are they dreaming about? There wasn't time for some of the more elaborate visions that came to mind. Safe to say, eating is probably foremost in the feline mind.

Now what would a dog be dreaming about? When dogs sleep, they often growl and twitch their legs as if running. Or chasing something? But cats lie totally lifeless. Yes, a large meal of something.

Sea

Sea

This is the first time I'm posting something for illustration friday. A promise to myself to take time for fun in the new year. I love pastels, pencils, drawing with all sorts of things. My mac, too.

"Sea" made me think of a lot of flowers or a field that has lots of colors.
